"Our Family has been vacationing at Elijah's Retreat for years. It's one of the only places my two sons with autism can be themselves with no judgement and it's a beautiful drive from our home. not only that, it's affordable (autism families don't always have a lot of extra income due to medical bills) and we have the comforts of home including a full kitchen to prepare allergen friendly foods. My sons love the Torres family and ask to come back every week. Horse rides, feeding and holding baby animals, seeing if the chickens have laid eggs, going on hayrides, roasting s'mores, outside and just relaxing in hammocks without a care in the world really refreshes us. We are so grateful for this haven for Autism Families."

"Cheryl Torres and her family make Elijah's Retreat feel like a home away from home. They spend their day giving us Animal Feeding Adventures, Horse Therapy, Hayrides, and Animal Encounters. The sensory room and music therapy room give Remington a place to fill the void in his sensory processing. My daughter loves to cuddle the bunnies while watching a movie in the barn and my typically developing son loves the fenced in playground. Since Remington has a tendency to elope, the fenced in playground gives me peace knowing that he is safe while exploring in the country. I love the front porch swing in the morning, watching the birds with a cup of coffee in hand. It is a relaxing place where my son is not seen as a "child with autism, but a child." We enjoy all aspects of the retreat every time we visit. I cannot wait to bring my family back to spend quality time roasting marshmallows and fishing in the pond!!"
